My preference is that as long as the mailing list
stays as is, if there is also a web BB interface to it
out there too, that is fine. It won't affect me and
the way I interact with the list (or at least it
shouldn't), so I don't have a strong opinion. I do
belong to a few BB forums and I some times go weeks
between visits. I just forget or don't have time.

If the forum interface is created though, an effort
should be made to hide or obfuscate email addresses in
forum postings. Don't make it easy for the spiders to
collect them. I assume phpBB can do something along
those lines.
